HARIO V60 2 CUPS

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
2 cups V60 Pourover
2 cups V60 paper filter
Kettle
Carafe/vessel
timer
Scale

Coffee Pirates Hario V60
20-22g filter coffee, medium grind
300 ml fresh water, heated just below boiling point

PREPARATION

Folding filter paper
Before placing the filter paper in the V60, fold the seam so that it lies flat against the side. Place the pour over on the carafe and rinse the filter with hot water. This will remove any papery residue from the filter and warm up the V60 filter.

Pour out the hot water and place the carafe and brewer on the scales and tare them.
Put the ground coffee into the filter and shake it gently so that it sits flat and evenly in the filter. Tare again.

Using the pourer, evenly saturate the coffee grounds with a coffee-water ratio of 1:2 (e.g. 20g coffee to 40ml water) and start the timer. Let the coffee bloom for 30 seconds or until the coffee starts to smell sweet.

TIPS

If the brewing process takes two minutes or less or tastes sour or watery, you might want to use a finer grind or increase the amount of ground coffee by a few grams. If the brewing is too slow or tastes too bitter, try a coarser grind.
